Road 2 Recovery, Springfield MO, GT AX Round 11-12

Rounds 11 and 12 of the GT Arenacross Series brought the Ajax Motorsports 405 Mods Race Team to Springfield, Missouri for the penultimate weekend of the season — and it was one of the most meaningful race weekends we’ve had all year.
Our title sponsor for the weekend was Road2Recovery, a program that is incredibly close to our hearts as a team. Road2Recovery exists to support athletes through serious injuries, not only financially, but through physical therapy resources and emotional support during some of the most difficult moments of their careers — and often their lives. It was an honor to represent them on such an important weekend.

We were also fortunate to have our friend Adler Caudle back at the races with us. In September of 2024, Adler suffered a T5 burst fracture that resulted in a serious spinal cord injury. Since then, Adler has shifted his focus from racing to sports psychology, and his presence has been invaluable. Adler has a unique perspective — not just on how to ride a motorcycle fast, but on how to handle adversity, pressure, and the mental side of racing. His ability to see the small details that often go unnoticed helps our riders perform at their best.
While Bayler remains sidelined with injury, it was great to have him back at the races with the team. His hunger to return is obvious, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him back behind the gate when the time is right.
The weekend started early, with Dylan at the track Thursday helping amateur racers with suspension setup and bike preparation. Friday morning, Dylan and Travin wrapped up suspension services and got the pits set up for the weekend. We take a lot of pride in presenting ourselves professionally — not just on the track, but in the pits — where we get to connect directly with fans and partners.
Friday Night
Qualifying brought some challenges, as Wyatt dealt with rear brake issues that forced him to rely more on the front brake than ideal on a tight Arenacross track. After two sessions, he went into the night show 11th overall. A decent Heat Race start turned into a 5th-place finish, one spot shy of a direct transfer. Wyatt bounced back the only way he knows how — by holeshotting and winning the LCQ. Starting from the back row in the first Main made things difficult, but he worked forward to finish 10th. With a front-row gate pick in the second Main, Wyatt put in a solid ride and finished 9th.

Saturday Night
Saturday’s format shifted slightly with fewer entries, allowing six direct transfers from each Heat. Wyatt finished 4th in his Heat, securing a direct transfer. The first Main was chaotic, with a first-turn pileup involving several top riders. A red flag was brought out — and it turned out to be a huge break for us. Wyatt’s front brake had packed with dirt, causing the wheel to lock anytime it left the ground. During the red flag, Travin and Dylan scrambled to replace parts and get the bike back to 100%, while Adler helped manage the situation and keep everyone calm. Thanks to our partners and having spare parts on hand, Wyatt was able to restart safely and finish 10th.
Between Mains, Adler helped Wyatt reset mentally after the crash. When the gate dropped for the second Main, Wyatt launched out front, grabbing the holeshot and leading the opening lap. As the intensity ramped up, he settled into 4th place, avoided the chaos behind him, and rode home comfortably — securing our best result of the season.
With just one weekend remaining, momentum is building at the perfect time. We’re hopeful to have both Bayler and Wyatt back on the gate for the final two rounds in Topeka, Kansas, and we’re excited to finish the season strong.
